The Orchard cancels release of Louis CK’s I Love You, Daddy

Louis CK’s new movie, I Love You, Daddy, was scheduled for limited release next week, but its New York premiere was canceled yesterday ahead of a disturbing investigative piece in The New York Times, which included the accounts of five women who say the actor-comedian forced them to watch him masturbate or asked if he could masturbate in front of them. In wake of the allegations, The Orchard, the production company behind the new film, issued a statement indicating it was “giving careful consideration to the timing and release” of the movie.

Well, the company appears to have made up its mind, as Variety reports I Love You, Daddy has been flat-out canceled. A brief statement of confirmation was issued: “The Orchard will not be moving forward with the release of I Love You, Daddy.” CK’s statement on the misconduct allegations is still forthcoming.
