Twitter temporarily suspends David Clarke over violent threats against the media
David Clarke may have once been the sheriff of Milwaukee County, but as a guy who once told people that they should buy guns and take the law into their own hands instead of calling 911, he was less of a respectable member of the law enforcement community and more of a deranged child who liked to cosplay as one of those fascist military dictators who covers himself in phony medals to trick people into thinking he’s worthy of their attention. Anyway, he sucks, and he recently underlined that point by sharing a few tweets advocating for violence against the media—like, literally.
“When LYING LIB MEDIA makes up MAKE NEWS [sic] to smear me, the ANTIDOTE is to go right at them,” Clarke tweeted. “Punch them in the nose & MAKE THEM TASTE THEIR OWN BLOOD. Nothing gets a bully like LYING LIB MEDIA’S attention better than to give them a taste of their own blood #neverbackdown.” He also shared an image of him and his idiot hero Donald Trump as wrestlers beating up on another wrestler with the CNN logo on their face. According to CNN, Clarke was temporarily banned from the social media service after a number of people complained—and after even more people upped their Twitter engagement numbers with some sweet, productive dunks—though he was reinstated after he deleted the tweets.
This comes after Twitter held a minor purge of Nazis and white supremacists in December, following an addition to its terms of service that broadens its definition of “hateful and abusive content.” Meanwhile, Trump himself is still not going anywhere, because Twitter’s rules apply to everyone but him.
