2 Dope Queens are bringing 4 hour-long specials to HBO
HBO is staying in the queen business, as 2 Dope Queens’ Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson have joined the premium cable network. Like departing monarchs Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister, Williams and Robinson are hell-bent on world domination, and will be hosting a series of four hour-long specials for HBO next year as part of that effort. The press release announcing the specials doesn’t specify their content, but they’ll presumably follow the formula of the 2 Dope Queens podcast, which opens with banter from Williams and Robinson before segueing into stand-up from a diverse lineup of guests.
Williams is also on the Game Of Thrones wavelength, saying in a statement, “We are so stoked to be partnering with HBO for these specials. Excited to add a couple more Khaleesis to the network!” Robinson adds, “The work wife and I are beyond thrilled that the formula we’ve perfected over the past four seasons of doing the podcast (Ignorance x Cocoa Butter + Comedic Honesty) is being brought to this network.”
2 Dope Queens will premiere on HBO next year.
