2001: A Space Odyssey becomes a Michael Bay-like blockbuster in this recut trailer

Stanley Kubrick's 1968 sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey is considered one of the greatest films of all time, an artistic triumph that influenced multiple generations of filmmakers and made a few dollars to boot (it was the highest grossing movie of 1968). It's a film that unfolds at a slow, methodical pace (haters would say plodding) and the film's original trailer unfolds in much the same way, even at under two minutes. But someone on the Internet thought it'd be a good idea to recut the trailer for those with much shorter, adrenaline-addled attention spans like, say, Michael Bay. So here it is, the trailer for 2001 as if it were a frantic, mind-bending action film complete with a frantic, mind-bending soundtrack. G.I. Joe: Cobra In Space, if you will.
