30 Rock's Dean Winters will now cause problems for Andy Samberg on Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Tina Fey isn't the only one who didn’t just immediately dissipate into formless vapor after the end of 30 Rock: Her on-screen occasional boyfriend Dean Winters has just landed a role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, joining the Fox series from Parks And Recreation’s Michael Schur that seems to find something funny about the police protecting and serve, probably because their ass has never been out there on that line. Winters will play a rival to Andy Samberg’s goofball detective, with the Beeper King and Allstate pitchman bringing his knowledge of fast response times and how shit can go wrong to his role as a Major Crimes Unit detective. He joins confirmed cast members Chelsea Peretti, Andre Braugher, and Terry Crews, other announced guest stars Fred Armisen and Kid Cudi, and the now ever-present anticipation that he’ll call Samberg a “dummy.”
