30 Rock's Katrina Bowden to play a street-smart hooker for TNT
Katrina Bowden, who played Liz Lemon's impossibly young and pretty assistant on 30 Rock, has joined the cast of Edward Burns' crime drama Public Morals. The show concerns the trials of New York City's vice squad in 1967, just as crime begins to overrun the city. Bowden will play a prostitute "with [a] street smart edge." That edge will clearly give her an advantage plying her trade, as most prostitutes are merely book-smart.
Burns (the actor/director, not Ed Burns The Wire's co-creator) will star in Morals as a cop who tries not to be corrupted by the city's seedy underbelly, while also writing and directing the series. Burns most recently played Bugsy Malone in Mob City, also for TNT. Bowden was most recently in an erotic thriller called Nurse 3D, alongside Paz de la Huerta and Judd Nelson. So, another regular TV gig probably comes as a relief.
