After just a week of (surprisingly restrictive) exclusivity on Tidal, JAY-Z’s 4:44 has now been released out into the streaming wilds. Apple Music and Amazon both announced that the album—which has already gone platinum, despite its limited initial release—should arrive on their streaming services some time tonight. (Don’t be surprised if Spotify pipes up about its availability soon, too.)
4:44 was heralded with a major ad push from JAY-Z, Tidal, and the service’s partners at Sprint, while critics have been largely positive toward its willingness to show a more vulnerable side of the venerated rapper. The album also has a visual component—featuring appearances from Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danny Glover—that’s still on the way.
