50 Cent threatens to release two new albums this year

50 Cent fans have reason to rejoice. According to an article on sohh.com, the controversial rap superstar has decided to take a brief break from making silly animated cartoons/videos baiting arch-nemesis Rick Ross to record songs for what he threatens will be two new solo albums to be released this year.

Before I Self-Destruct, 50’s latest, was supposed to be released last year but was pushed back so that it wouldn’t compete with Eminem’s similarly delayed comeback album. Eminem earlier announced that he too would be releasing two albums this year.

Dr. Dre, meanwhile, still plans to release his long-awaited third solo album this year as well. Heaven knows nothing in the world is more dependable than a rapper’s promise so the release of all these albums is set in stone. Will these five albums from fading mega-stars revive the eternally flailing record industry? No. No, they will not though the A.V Club very much looks forward to Dre’s new album and is cautiously optimistic about Eminem’s comeback album despite that dreadful first single.
