50 Cent to quit music if outsold by Kanye West
I'm not sure when exactly I got assigned to the 50 Cent vs. Kanye West beat, but this story is too good to pass up: Now that Kanye has officially declined to participate in a presidential-style debate with 50 Cent (a.k.a. Curtis Jackson) on BET's 106 & Park over whose album is better, Jackson has "raised the stakes" with the declaration that if West's forthcoming album Graduation—due to drop September 11, the same day as 50 Cent's Curtis—outsells his, he will quit releasing albums altogether. "I'll no longer write music," Jackson said in a statement to hip-hop website SOHH.com. "I'll write music and work with my other artists [Ed. note: Wait a minute—didn't you just say you would no longer write music? At least you should pay attention to you.] but I won't put out any more solo albums." 50 Cent haters (and judging by previous comments, there are a lot of you out there), your mission is clear: Buy as many copies of Graduation as you can.
