Eddie Murphy talks on Barbara Walters about his oeuvre. 48 Hours, Beverly Hills Cop, Coming To America, and—his favorite—The Nutty Professor all get mentioned while not even Walters can bring herself to talk about The Golden Child or The Adventures Of Pluto Nash, and his dedication to the lowest of lowbrow performances. Tranny hookers are also not part of the conversation. This sort of friendly, Eddie Murphy-is-not-a-reclusive-unlikable-freak conversation might have been more useful to Murphy had it taken place about two or three months ago. Right now, I'm thinking he's the most vulnerable "favorite" to win his award. Between the surprising tepid response for Dreamgirls, Murphy's weird personal life, and Norbit, I'm thinking he's not the sentimental favorite. Look for Alan Arkin to pull the upset.
