9:18 PM CT: Second-best Cinematography

Pan's Labyrinth upsets Children Of Me for cinematography, which is a pretty huge disappointment for me, despite the former film's accomplishment. We here at The A.V. Club (and our readers, as our poll indicates) have made pretty clear that Children Of Men was the movie of the year, and cinematography is only the most obvious of its accomplishments. To me, filmmakers of the future are going to look at the long takes in that movie like they do at Touch Of Evil or I Am Cuba. It's a landmark achievement and Emmanuel Lubeski (who deserved to win last year for The New World) wuz robbed.
