91,000 cans of Canadian Budweiser to be imbued with Metallica’s essence
Metallica is about to get even more commercial as the metal vets team up with Budweiser for a limited edition set of cans. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the band’s logo will appear on black cans of Budweiser—black like Lars Ulrich’s soul—though, sadly, only in Quebec City.
Budweiser even has an interesting—if slightly janky—way of imbuing the band with the band’s essence. A tanker truck full of Bud will sit outside Metallica’s show at Quebec City’s Centre Vidéotron tomorrow night, September 16. After the show, the tanker will drive off to the Labatt plant near Montreal, where all the beer once inside the truck will be placed into the Metallica cans and sold off to total suckers. About 91,000 total cans will be pressed up and filled, and the beer will be available to the public in cases of 15 and 24 cans.
