A cocktail and a toothbrush point the way to paradise on Better Call Saul
In this week’s musically inclined episode of Polite Fight, Gus and John discuss the various visions of “Bali Ha’i” that beckon to Kim and Jimmy on the Better Call Saul episode of the same name. A nod to Rodgers & Hammerstein, “Bali Ha’i” refers to the figurative islands that beckon Kim and Jimmy, tempting them from their current paths. We focus on two elements from the episode that hint at those temptations, namely the Moscow Mule cocktail and Kim’s toothbrush, the latter of which catches our attention thanks to a comment from JaneSays2 on the TV Club review.
The conversation then turns to Mike, whose storyline has deviated more and more from Jimmy’s in recent episodes—though Gus has a theory about how the two plot-lines will converge. Then our hosts have some fun at the expense of the Salamanca cousins, with a little help from commentersinathanedforme and a quiet storm. (P.S., inathanedforme, if you’re out there, please tell us how to pronounce your commenter name.)
