Before he began a commander of the Rebel Alliance, Admiral Gial Ackbar presumably had a life, one that involved him not being reduced to meme status. Ackbar was more than that, he was an amphibian species with hopes, dreams, and desires. Comic artist AC Stuart recently took a stab at humanizing Ackbar, a man(?) whose domestic life is far removed from the fast-paced space battles he made his name fighting in. Ackbar’s life appears to consist of long periods of quiet reflection punctuated by routine maintenance around his house. Though he comes off a little short with his wife Linda, it’s easy to see the love between the two, the kind of love that can withstand rodent infestations and the occasional argument brought on by Ackbar’s PTSD being triggered by a trip to the hardware store.
