A&E and Carlton Cuse want you to make the opening sequence for Bates Motel

Bates Motel, the six-episode TV prequel to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho is in need of a title sequence, and executive producer and former Lost showrunner, Carlton Cuse is giving fans the opportunity to create it. Running from now until Jan. 3, you or anyone among the approximately 700 Facebook fans so far of Bates Motel can submit a 15-second title sequence for the show. The winner will receive $2,500, and the possibility of Cuse liking it enough to use the concept as the official opening to the show when it premieres in March.

As previously reported, Freddie Highmore (that kid from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and August Rush) stars as a young, sexually confused Norman Bates alongside Vera Farmiga as Norma Bates, his not-so-great mother. A&E promises "a complex, character-based thriller" and a modern take on the Psycho franchise, complete with just-introduced Bates siblings and a lot of creepiness.
