A look at the evolution of video game breasts (NSFW, obviously)

Historically, video game representations of breasts have ranged from almost tolerable to ludicrously terrible. They’re generally comically large, overly active and, in a world of games increasingly devoted towards realism, behave almost nothing like their real world counterparts. In an article on Kotaku (NSFW), Patricia Hernandez sets out to discover why that is by asking developers about the craft that goes into making a video game boob.

While Hernandez has trouble getting devs to spill the beans (it’s not hard to see why—everyone interviewed comes off pretty skeevy), it’s interesting to see some of the technical and corporate limitations that get in the way of making a realistic simulation of boobs. And, no, the problem is not that game developers have never seen a naked lady before.
