A lot of people did want to buy The Beatles on iTunes, apparently
Last week, news of The Beatles catalogue finally making its way to the Apple iTunes store was greeted with approximately the same enthusiasm as, “And now, a song by Ringo,” considering just about every fan had already discovered the mystical alchemy that allowed them to put Sgt. Pepper’s on their iPod. However, there are still apparently millions and millions of folks who were excited—enough for the band to move more than 450,000 copies of its albums and 2 million downloads of its singles. (Unfortunately, in the U.K., it wasn’t quite enough to top a new album by the recently reunited Take That—but then, Robbie Williams is back!) The Beatles’ rivalry with the cast of Glee grows bloodier by the day.
