A miracle goes awry in the opening scenes from Preacher
An adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s Preacher comics has finally made its way out of preproduction purgatory to our TV and laptop screens. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Breaking Bad’s Sam Catlin are producing and showrunning the series, which premieres this Sunday on AMC. The network has just released the first four and a half minutes of the series premiere, which may or may not set purists’ minds at ease. But it opens with a bang, then flashes back to Jesse Custer’s (Dominic Cooper) traumatic past before showing his morning preparations for service. Check the background for an Easter egg or two, as well as some distorting of the word of God.
Preacher premieres Sunday, May 22 on AMC at 10 p.m. ET before moving to its regular Sunday 9 p.m. ET time slot on June 5.
