The diminishing returns of 3-D have prompted filmmakers as varied as Martin Scorsese and Michael Bay to come to its defense, but as seen with Avatar, sometimes all you need is just one movie to convince audiences that the technology is capable of redemption. Nurse 3-D probably isn’t that movie, but it does star Paz De La Huerta, entertainment’s reigning doyenne of doffing her clothes (as well as drunken shenanigans at awards shows and New York nightclubs). The Boardwalk Empire actress whose horrible allergies to fabric make it impossible to stay covered for more than minutes at a time will play Abby Russell, a dedicated caretaker whose hobbies include punishing “dishonest men,” presumably while in various states of undress—and again, in eye-popping 3-D. The film was inspired by Lionsgate’s Chief Marketing Officer Tim Palen, whose own side projects include taking “fine art photographs of beautiful, fantastical nurses,” which doesn't sound creepy at all. In a press release, Palen says, “Paz is the perfect actress for this role,” the reasons for which are probably self-evident in the very NSFW poster image below. [via Movieline]
