A new Clipse record is definitely on the way, at some point
There’s definitely a new Clipse album coming out at some point in the near future, probably. In December, news broke that group member Pusha T would be going into the studio with The Neptunes—Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo—to work on his solo record, King Push. But somehow that get-together has morphed into a full-blown Clipse session. The new album the duo are working on, tentatively titled As God As My Witness, will be the group’s first joint LP since 2009’s Til The Casket Drops.
Williams, who's worked with Clipse since the group’s inception, told MTV News last year that he’s looking to “find an untapped zone and just present something different that people haven’t felt before” when it comes to the sound of the new record. While he doesn’t exactly know what that will be, he said he trusts that, “the arrow will present itself to me and I’ll just listen and follow it.”
UPDATE: Spin has cast some doubt on the album’s release, pointing out that Pusha T has since deleted a Facebook post suggesting the reunion was on. So as always, fans will just have to wait a little longer.
