A new Jurassic World game will let you build your own doomed dino theme parks

A new Jurassic Park video game is going to give fans a chance to play God by building their own dinosaur-filled tourist traps. Called Jurassic World Evolution, it’s being made by Frontier Developments in partnership with Universal. Frontier is a studio that worked on the legendary RollerCoaster Tycoon series and recently went back to its theme-park simulation roots for the successful Planet Coaster. In other words, it’s exactly the company you want developing a game that lets you build your own Jurassic Park. The game is currently set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in summer 2018, just in time for the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

No footage of the game has surfaced thus far, but its debut cinematic trailer gives you a glimpse of what it might look like when your park starts to go wrong and the true Jurassic Park experience begins. According to the developer’s official description, Evolution will let players build their parks on Isla Nublar, the setting of both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, as well its surrounding islands. Without stopping to think if you should, you’ll bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct all sorts of rides, research centers, and, perhaps most importantly, security facilities. You’re definitely going to need those when life starts to find a way.
