According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has hired Stephany Folsom to write the newest draft of the Thor: Ragnarok script. Folsom is a relative newcomer to Hollywood, and she’s mostly known for an alternate-history script that made the Black List in 2013 called 1969: A Space Odyssey Or How Kubrick Learned To Stop Worrying And Land On The Moon. She also worked on Disney’s The Princess Of North Sudan, that project about a guy from Virginia who thought it would be cool to go to Africa and just claim a huge chunk of land for himself. (It was not.) A previous Ragnarok writer, Christopher Yost, dropped Marvel for Masters Of The Universe back in August.
Thor: Ragnarok will be directed by What We Do In The Shadows co-director Taika Waititi, and it’ll feature some Hulk smashing, but we don’t know much beyond that. If the other Thor movies are anything to go by, Loki will be there to do some evil stuff, everyone will mostly forgive Loki’s evil because he’s so charming, and Stellan Skarsgård’s Erik Selvig will play a much bigger role than anyone wants/expects.
