A painting of Kendrick Lamar is heading for the U.S. Capitol

Among the many accolades being showered (and rightly so) on Kendrick Lamar in the wake of Damn. is the news that a painting of the “Humble” artist will soon be on display in the U.S. Capitol. According to XXL, it was a painting of Lamar that won the Congressional Art Competition, and the artist—high school student Tiona Cordova of Pueblo, Colorado—will be rewarded by having her art hung in the national landmark. Colorado Congressman Scott Tipton shared a photo of the gorgeous painting on his Twitter page.

It’s just too bad the painting couldn’t have found its way to the Capitol building during one of former President Barack Obama’s terms, as he’s one of Lamar’s biggest fans.
