A real life Up house is pissing off its uptight neighbors

A California home that’s been modified to look like the old Victorian from Up isn’t exactly charming its neighbors. Hosam Haggog and Fatima Rahman spent two years renovating their house to look like Carl Fredricksen’s patched-together abode. Unfortunately, Haggog and Rahman’s uptight neighbors in Santa Clara’s Old Quad neighborhood aren’t sold on the mélange of colors applied to the home’s exterior, saying that while it might have been appropriate for a movie, it’s not appropriate for a historic home. One neighbor told NBC affiliate KNTV that he thinks the home is “atrocious” and that it’s been “painted up to look like a clown.” Haggog replied by saying, “All the kids in the neighborhood really love the colors.” Hey,  if the neighbors aren’t Up fans, we’ve got a couple thousand balloons they can use to get lost.

This isn’t the first time a building has been modified to resemble the home from Up. A Utah house modeled after the same fictional building sold for $400,000 in 2011.
