A refreshing analysis for the season of lists

Tired of the best-of lists crashing down on you as the year ends? Well, here's one mark against them that's not totally subjective: The Chicago literary blog Bookslut has posted an analysis of The New York Times' annual "notable books" list, finding a suspicious amount of the authors who end up on the list have written for the Times at one point or another. It's not really a hidden thing or even that hard to spot, but it's pleasing to have the statistics handy.

This isn't so much a season-of-lists-type list, but Maxim's "Worst Band Names" list got linked on Stereogum today, and, well, I'm going to have to say it doesn't match up to the one that A.V. Club's Kyle Ryan maintains.
