A reunited Jawbreaker tops this year’s Riot Fest lineup

Every year, Riot Fest somehow manages to pull a big reunion out of its ringleader top hat. Last year, it was the original Misfits, and this year, organizers were able to get the members of seminal pop-punk/emo band Jawbreaker back together for a headlining set at the Chicago edition of the music festival/punk-rock carnival. They’ll be joined by Nine Inch Nails and Queens Of The Stone Age—who will headline the other two nights of the three-night festival—and more than 70 other artists. Other highlights include New Order, Paramore, M.I.A., politically charged rap-rock supergroup Prophets of Rage, a DJ set from Beastie Boy Mike D, a 40th anniversary set from D.C. hardcore legends Bad Brains, and “special appearances” from Chicago’s own Ministry and Vic Mensa.

A press release from Riot Fest teases another wave of bands to be announced in May, plus the announcement of which bands will be performing their classic albums in full tomorrow, April 20. General and VIP passes for the Chicago edition of Riot Fest—which will take place from September 15-17 at Douglas Park—go on sale today at noon on Ticketfly. You can see the full lineup of the first wave of Riot Fest bands below.
