Aaliyah’s family isn’t happy about that Lifetime biopic
As it turns out, Aaliyah’s family isn’t all that gung-ho about the forthcoming Lifetime biopic about her life and tragic death. TMZ reports the late singer’s family is “pissed” that it wasn’t contacted by Lifetime about the project, and it’s now attempting to block Lifetime’s access to any of Aaliyah’s music. The site spoke to Barry Hankerson, Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager, who also says the family isn’t opposed to an Aaliyah movie in theory. Still, like so many, he suspects a Lifetime movie is hardly the way to celebrate the singer’s legacy.
