Aaron Paul on finding real closure for Jesse Pinkman in El Camino

Early last year, in a slightly unsettling Valentine’s Day “treat,” Netflix revealed that Breaking Bad was the first show many of its users would binge watch on the platform. It was no surprise, really, as the show found a second life on the streaming service, circumventing the agony any AMC viewers experienced while waiting a week between episodes to see just how bad Walter White would break next. So it was even less surprising when it was announced that none other than Netflix would be home to the long-rumored Breaking Bad sequel movie, El Camino, which would follow Jesse Pinkman moments after “Heisenberg” made a desperate move to secure his freedom. And while the series rewarded Pinkman with a cathartic final scene, El Camino meant troubles were far from over for Aaron Paul’s fan-favorite character. Though many plot details had to be kept under wraps, we had the opportunity to talk to the actor about returning to his career-making role and how he felt about exploring Jesse Pinkman’s story beyond the happy ending. And, because BoJack Horseman’s final season was just announced, we had to ask Paul about the possibility of a Todd Chavez sequel movie.
