ABC announces new Bachelor spinoff, because love will never die
Long-devoted to its bleak vistas of grim, industrial cityscapes, ABC’s The Bachelor might soon be looking for a change to more exotic scenery as a backdrop for beautiful people making out. As reported by Deadline, ABC has announced Bachelor In Paradise, a spinoff of the dating show that will take former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants and force them to live together in a fabulous tropical location where they will, presumably, make out with each other. Bachelor host/prisoner Chris Harrison will be hosting, and just try not to read this official statement from ABC in his voice: “[Bachelor In Paradise] will feature new twists, shocking surprises, unexpected guests and some of the most unlikely relationships in Bachelor history.” It cannot be done!
Despite radical changes that are totally unheard of for The Bachelor—they never go to amazing tropical paradises in that show—it’s still a little unclear how this will differ from the show’s last spinoff, Bachelor Pad, which also put a bunch of old cast members together in the same house. Perhaps In Paradise will focus more on making out and less on Survivor-style challenges and voting, but people are probably going to be making out either way.
