ABC developing new Michael Showalter comedy called Work Married

With Wet Hot American Summer: First Day Of Camp lighting up the Netflix charts a few months ago and his next feature film (Hello, My Name Is Doris with Max Greenfield and Sally Field) hitting theaters early next year, the comedy world is enjoying a bit of a Michael Showalter-aissance. OK, that’s not really a thing, but Showalter has had a lot of new projects in the works lately. News about his most recent one comes from Deadline, which says ABC is developing a new series from Showalter and Christina Lee, his writing partner, called Work Married. The show will follow “unconventional Vermont state senator Michael Sherman and his type-A overachieving chief of staff Christina Kim” (both of whom seem to have weirdly familiar names) as they realize that their “work marriage is the only relationship they’ve got left.”

It may not sound as bonkers as some of Showalter’s other projects, but more Showalter is almost always a good thing either way.
