ABC gives two more seasons to The Goldbergs
Continuing with the “Let’s just go with what’s working” philosophy that’s already led it to renew Modern Family, Black-ish, and The Middle—and quietly show stuff like Scandal to the door—ABC has announced that it’s granting two more seasons to The Goldbergs. The Patton Oswalt-narrated period sitcom will now continue into its fifth and sixth seasons on the network, bumping it up well past the fabled 100 episodes mark.
The Goldbergs stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, and George Segal, plus Sean Giambrone as the younger version of creator Adam F. Goldberg. The series is currently ABC’s third-highest-rated show, right behind Modern Family and unkillable Shondaland revenant Grey’s Anatomy, which the network just renewed for its 14th season.
