ABC offers up more wives with The Astronaut Wives Club
Possibly hoping to cash in on the success of Gravity—or feeling weirdly nostalgic for Apollo 13—ABC is set to develop a new show called The Astronaut Wives Club. Stephanie Savage, one of the co-creators of Gossip Girl, will write the adaptation of Lily Koppel’s best-selling novel. According to Deadline, the project will be a “limited drama series” that's being fast-tracked for a possible February or March premiere. Set in the 1960s, yet with a “modern feel,” it follows the wives of NASA’s early astronauts. In other words, the show is basically Mad Men: In Space, although without actual space and more nervous exchanges between repressed women.
