Earlier this year, we reported that ABC had picked up an untitled sitcom based on famous jackass Johnny Knoxville’s life, and though the network didn’t move forward with the project then, it has extended its contracts with a bunch of people who were set to star in the show. According to Deadline, the plan is to take another crack at the pilot by hiring a new writer who can “re-conceive” it for another chance at going to series. The four actors who will be sticking around are David Koechner, Julie Ann Emery, Brad Carter, and Lavell Crawford (Huell from Breaking Bad), none of whom—as far as we know—are playing the young Johnny Knoxville. That role will probably have to go to someone who is just as good at convincing other people to do things as he is at being convinced to do things, which is a rare and dangerous combination. Knoxville himself will reportedly narrate the series, Everybody Hates Chris-style.
