According to Ted Danson, Ted Danson no longer the only source of rumors about a Bored To Death movie

Back in June, Ted Danson added grist to the hungry “canceled cult TV series revived as mutterings of a movie” rumor mill when he suggested a film version of Bored To Death was in the early stages of being willed into existence by its cast, crew, and fans. And now, as all stories like this must go, there comes word of a script—though it’s still just Ted Danson’s word, even if he attributes the plot points to the series’ creator and the film’s theoretical screenwriter, Jonathan Ames. “I think Jason [Schwartzman] becomes a policeman, which means, for him, a traffic cop,” Danson told the Wall Street Journal’s Speakeasy blog. “He’ll have a traffic-cop go-kart kind of thing. And I think [Zach Galifianakis] and I move in together, both of us without relationships. And then: hijinks. All hell breaks loose. That’s about as much as I know.” Though he also knows that these hijinks and hell breaking loose will eventually be assembled into a 90-minute series-capper aired on HBO, which representatives from the network have neither confirmed nor denied. Ted Danson, however, has confirmed the existence of Ames’ script, and that’s all the assurance Ted Danson needs at this point in time.
