Actor flees The Hobbit

In a serious blow to The Hobbit’s inevitable shirts and skins, new cast members vs. old softball game, the prequel has lost Rob Kazinsky (who was to play the dwarf Fili), one of the few actors who didn’t belong to Peter Jackson’s returning Lord Of The Rings stable. Fortunately, Kazinsky is leaving the film on his own accord, rather than being smote by lightning as the production’s history may suggest, with Jackson citing personal reasons—most likely Kazinsky’s personal wish not to be smote by lightning. In a statement, Jackson said that Kazinsky’s departure would definitely not impact the filming while brazenly flipping off the heavens.[TheOneRing via Movieline]
