Actor who supposedly appeared on Ugly Betty murders his own mother with a samurai sword

Haitian-American actor Michael Brea—who’s being called an “Ugly Betty actor” who also allegedly had a role in Step Up 3-D, despite a complete lack of supporting Internet evidence beyond this profile on the Haitian film blog Bèlfim—was arrested in Brooklyn last night for murdering his own mother, which he did with a samurai sword while screaming Bible passages. According to eyewitness reports, Brea chased his mother through their apartment building around 1:30 a.m., screaming, “Repent, repent,” then killed her with the sword; when police arrived, he was combative and had to be subdued by taser. In addition to being an actor (again, supposedly, considering we can’t even find an IMDB page for him), Brea is also the owner of a Brooklyn-area Subway restaurant. This is the second high-profile death by samurai sword this year, following a July incident in which a porn star went on a slashing rampage at a video distribution facility, killing one person and seriously injuring two others, then eventually jumping to his death.
