Adam Driver to star in Jim Jarmusch’s next movie

As reported by Deadline, Adam Driver has signed on to star in Paterson, the next film from director Jim Jarmusch. The report says Paterson will be “a wry comedy” and that it will also feature Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani (Body Of Lies, Exodus: Gods And Kings), but that’s pretty much all we know about it. However, given Driver’s recent roles in The Force Awakens and Inside Llewyn Davis, it seems safe to surmise that he’ll be following the trend of those movies by playing a guy who talks about space stuff in a weird voice. Whether or not Driver’s role in this film will also spawn an inescapable Twitter parody, though, remains to be seen.

Paterson comes from Amazon Studios, but like Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq, it will also get a proper theatrical release. K5 International is also co-financing the project, and a representative from K5 says that Amazon and Jarmusch are planning to “give the film huge theatrical support.” If only we knew anything about it.
