Adam Pally doesn't think it should be this hard to find an Oscars host

Over the past week, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been scrambling to fill the void left by Kevin Hart when he dropped out as Oscars host. This came shortly after a report by The Hollywood Reporter outlining just how undesirable the Oscars-hosting gig is for performers. But Adam Pally—who has some experience with award show presenting, going off on a room full of social media influencers at this year’s Shorty Awards—thinks the solution to finding an Oscars host is pretty simple: find a talented female comedian, like Tiffany Haddish or Sarah Silverman, and pay them a boatload of money. It’s a no-brainer idea, and given that there have only ever been two women to host the Oscars solo, it’s one we hope the Academy is considering. In the video above, we talk more with Pally about the Oscars host conundrum, and go behind the scenes of his scorched-earth moment at the Shorty Awards.

Pally’s latest project, Champaign ILL, hits YouTube Premium on December 12.
