Every year, Adam Savage takes an incognito pilgrimage through the halls of Comic-Con, hidden in the crowd waiting for people to realize it’s him. Real astronaut Chris Hadfield joined him this year to cosplay as fake astronauts from 2001: A Space Odyssey. But these are no ordinary costumes—last year Savage had some heat regulation problems, so he outfitted these with water-cooling units and a fan. Basically, personal air conditioners. The visors were tinted to help conceal the two’s identities, and the two carried lunchboxes. Plus, as Hadfield says and as the below video from Tested shows, the suits are surprisingly accurate compared to real astronaut suits.
