Adam Savage is documenting his last day at MythBusters on Twitter

MythBusters superfans have no doubt been disappointed to hear that their beloved Discovery Channel show is ending its 13-year run at the end of this upcoming season. Hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman have promised the last episode will be a worthy send-off with “an emphasis on looking back.” And now Savage is documenting his last day of filming via his Twitter account.

Using the hashtag #mblastday (which appropriately looks like both “MB Last Day” and “M Blast Day”), Savage started out by posting a video intro to his live-blogging efforts (and sharing details about his morning bath).

From there he spent the morning assembling gifts for the crew, checking in on his Cruiser, stocking up on doughnuts, opening packages, and saying goodbye to his now-empty office.

He’ll be sharing images throughout the day (and potentially at the wrap party in the evening) so those who want to stay up-to-date on the show’s emotional send-off can follow along on Twitter. Of course, from a fan point of view this emotional goodbye is still pretty far in the future. MythBusters returns on January 9 with a whole new season of episodes before the finale airs, most likely next September.

Meanwhile those who still can’t get enough of Savage and Hyneman can check out their 32-state tour or celebrate the show with this article on how MythBusters made science cool again.
