Adam Scott taking William Shatner's role in classic Twilight Zone episode reboot

Are we having a fear of flying yet? As the new remake of The Twilight Zone slowly comes to life, with Jordan Peele serving as humble narrator to deliver ambiguous exposition and perhaps some archly ironic concluding messages, another recently supernatural-adjacent actor has joined the project.

TV Line reports Adam Scott, fresh off his sadly canceled-just-as-it-was-getting-good sitcom Ghosted, has signed on to the revival of Rod Serling’s classic TV anthology series. The TV and film vet will take a break from his turn as demon Trevor on The Good Place to star in “Nightmare At 30,000 Feet,” a callback to arguably the most famous Twilight Zone ever, “Nightmare At 20,000 Feet,” albeit with a good 10,000 feet added to make it extra-scary, or possibly due to inflation.

Admittedly, no details of the episode have been released yet, but it seems safe to say it will be a reimagining of the episode in which William Shatner played an anxiety-ridden man who takes a flight, only to become convinced there’s a gremlin on the wing of the plane. Were it to turn out his passenger is making the whole thing up this time, let’s just go ahead and assume the person sitting next to Scott in the aisle seat will turn to the camera and say, “That sure seems like a big little lie to tell,” then give a thumbs-up. The Twilight Zone will premiere on CBS All Access sometime next year.
