Adam West and Burt Ward camp it up in trailer for animated Batman ‘66 movie

Ben Affleck may be brooding it up as the onscreen Batman right now, but there’s still room for lighter fare, like Adam West’s campier iteration from the ’60s television show. The series recently saw new life in the Batman ’66 comics line, and now Entertainment Weekly reports that an animated film with West and his Robin (Burt Ward) will premiere next month. EW also shared the trailer for Batman: Return Of The Crusaders, which sees the Dynamic Duo in yet another pickle—that is, a TV dinner.

Batman and Robin don’t have a chance to Batusi, but they do serve up all the necessary food-related double entendres before making their escape, at which point they drum up interest in the upcoming film. They’ll encounter old foes like the Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman (whom Julie Newmar will return to voice). Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders will be released on Digital HD on October 11 and Blu-ray on November 1.
