Adult Swim is live-streaming its official Metalocalypse petition fax machine
A petition to get Metalocalypse back on the air is nothing new. Fan petitions have been circulating on the internet ever since the show’s creator, Brandon Small, announced that it Adult Swim had opted not to greenlight a fifth season last year. (For those of you who haven’t watched the greatest show Adult Swim ever produced, Metalocalypse tells the story of Dethklok, an insanely rich, powerful death metal band, locked in a secret, mostly one-sided war with a shadowy Illuminati-like organization. It’s brilliant.)
This petition, however, is different. Adult Swim has said it will add its own name to the Change.org petition to put the show back on the air—provided enough people write a short essay about why Metalocalypse should be back on the air and fax it in to them. And so we know it’s serious, Adult Swim is live-streaming its official Metalocalypse fax machine, so we can watch the essays roll in in real time.
At the time of publication, there were already enough essays to fill a good sized Rubbermaid container. Keep ’em coming. As we all know, Dethklok is the world’s seventh largest economy, so getting them back up and running is good for all of us.
