Adult Swim orders 70 more episodes of Rick And Morty

Rick Sanchez’s “Rick and Morty, forever and forever, a hundred years … a hundred days … a hundred times” monologue is proving prophetic, as Adult Swim just made an announcement that should pacify even the most morally ambivalent, dipping sauce-crazed pop culture savant: The network has renewed Rick And Morty for an additional 70 (yes, 70!) episodes, enough to carry it over the 100-episode syndication finish line. Forever and forever, indeed.

At the rate Dan Harmon, Justin Roiland, and their writers work, that’s enough to last another decade at least. It also gives Harmon and friends some motivation to actually put down the bottle—or, hell, crack open another one, why not—and get to work. Back in March, Harmon tweeted that it was difficult to find the motivation to get cracking on new episodes without a new episode order in place, a problem that’s now been more than adequately solved.

When these new episodes will arrive is still very much an open question, however. In the meantime, you can read a new interview with Harmon about the renewal from our own Sean O’Neal over at GQ.
