Adult Swim picks up Tyler, The Creator’s cartoon
Punctuation continues to make strides in TV series titles, as Deadline reports that Tyler, The Creator’s animated show, The Jellies!, has just been picked up by Adult Swim. The 15-minute cartoon comes from the Cherry Bomb rapper and his Odd Future collaborator, Lionel Boyce, who previously partnered with Adult Swim for the animated series, Loiter Squad. The Jellies! follows Cornell, a 16-year-old human who lives among a family of jellyfish. He’s shocked to learn that he was adopted, and goes off on the necessary search for self that takes him and his family into “uncanny situations,” like say, a family of jellyfish raising a human being.
Phil LaMarr, Blake Anderson, AJ Johnson, and Kevin Michael Richardson are in the voice cast, and Tyler, The Creator will score the series. Here’s a teaser for The Jellies!, which will roll out as part of the Turner Network’s upfronts presentation next week.
