After crunching the numbers, Superman is much wealthier than Batman
Their big showdown, Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice, comes out later this month, but reporter Clark Kent may have already trounced industrialist Bruce Wayne, at least from a financial standpoint. The researchers at The Bitbag have been looking into the matter, and they have created an epic infograph comparing the various assets and liabilities of the two costumed DC superheroes. And what did they find out? According to writer Martin Cruz, “There’s good reason to believe that Superman can give Batman a run for his money.” Fans often assume the Caped Crusader would have the advantage over the Man Of Steel in this one category, simply because the former is a wealthy playboy, while the latter lives his life as a working-class journalist. But, according to the data assembled here, there are several factors that give Superman the upper hand even here.
What fans should not forget is that Superman is, for all intents and purposes, invulnerable and impervious to disease and injury. Therefore, he doesn’t have to worry about third-party health care or elder care expenses. Ever. Batman does. And, sure, Batman has his nifty gadgets and vehicles, including the Batmobile, the Batwing, and that Bat-Computer of his. But Superman has a spaceship from the lost planet of Krypton, which could be worth up to a billion dollars, just for research purposes alone. Then, there are those Kryptonian robots at the Fortress Of Solitude to consider. And, yes, Batman lives in “stately Wayne Manor,” but a Metropolis apartment doesn’t come cheap. Besides, the first issue of Superman is even worth more than the first issue of Batman. So Clark Kent is not merely an action hero; he’s an auction hero as well.
