Agent Carter is moving to Los Angeles for season two

A lot of people really love New York, but sometimes all it takes to convince you to move is a series of attempts to discredit and/or murder you, your boss sacrificing himself by jumping out a window while wearing an exploding vest, and one of your best friends getting mind-controlled into almost blowing up the city. That’s exactly what happened to Peggy Carter in the first season of Marvel’s Agent Carter, at least, so it’s easy to see why she’d want to move now that her show has been picked up for another year.

According to Zap2it, Peggy will be packing up her stylish hats, English accent, and secret agent skills and heading out to Los Angeles next season. The report also says that Hayley Atwell—who plays Carter—is the only confirmed cast member, so it sounds like some of the cast won’t be joining her on the west coast. We imagine Dominic Cooper’s Howard Stark and James D’Arcy’s Jarvis will be able to make the trip pretty easily, but Peggy’s old coworkers Chad Michael Murray and Enver Gjokaj would have to jump through some narrative hoops in order to explain why they’re also suddenly living in a different city.

The official synopsis for season two of Agent Carter says that Peggy is making the move “for her most dangerous assignment yet,” and also that as she “discovers new friends, a new home—and perhaps even a new love—she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.” Note the reference to “new friends,” but ignore the reference to “a new love,” because we all know Peggy will someday find a time machine that will allow her to travel to the future and finally get that dance with Captain America.
