Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. heroes join Marvel Future Fight mobile game

Of all the mighty super-powered beings in the Marvel Universe roster, there is perhaps none more potent that the uncontrollable monster popularly known as cross-promotional synergy. Possessing strength so potent, it forced Joss Whedon to include an inexplicable scene of Thor taking a bath in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, this behemoth has now set its sights on Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and mobile game Marvel Future Fight, respectively. Variety reports that starting October 7, fans of the game will have 9 new characters added, all from the ABC series.

A fairly standard-issue mobile game of the drag-and-run, tap-to-fight variety, Marvel Future Fight will soon allow a number of new TV show denizens, include Phil Coulson, Daisy Johnson (née Skye), Melinda May, Bobbi Morse, Deathlok, Lady Sif, and—weirdly—Lincoln the Inhuman guide-turned-doctor, Raina, and Gordon. Those last two are described as “bosses,” suggesting players will go head-to-head with them at some point in the newly expanded game. Of course, the game is already stuffed with characters, over 50 of them, in fact; but none of those characters allow Marvel to get a fresh bump of promotion for its primetime show. Marvel Future Fight is free to play, with in-app purchases available, and given that it’s been downloaded more than 20 million times since its launch in May, this seems like a no-brainer for a company looking to give fans the opportunity to make Bobbi run in circles, much like the series so often does.
