Airport officials mistake Matt Berninger’s slow-burning intensity for fast-exploding terrorism
All The National’s Matt Berninger wanted to do was transport a funny Japanese novelty clock from Tokyo to Kauai on a recent flight. Unfortunately, the wine-soaked vocalist ended up causing a minor incident at the Honolulu airport when his clock was mistaken for a bomb, reports Spinner.com. Not only did the faux-bomb threat lead to a 45-minute evacuation of the airport, it also cut into Berninger’s precious pre-flight muffin-and-massage time. Otherwise, everyone walked away unscathed. “I ultimately had to surrender the alarm clock to the TSA, but they were very pleasant and professional,” Berninger tells Spinner. “They had done a great job and I thanked them and they let me go." You never have to deal with this kind of inconvenience when you’re carried by a swarm of bees.
