Al Franken is writing a memoir about his days on SNL and Capitol Hill

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) has just sold the rights to his seventh book, an autobiographical account of his eclectic career in the public eye. According to Twelve—the Hachette Book Group imprint that struck the book deal with the second term senator—the memoir will follow Franken’s path from the writing rooms and soundstages of Saturday Night Live in the mid-’70s to the U.S. Senate floor where he currently kind of works. You know, regular memoir stuff.

Back in October, when the 64-year-old comedian-turned-politician announced the book, he jokingly referred to it as a “psychological thriller” and said that it would “recount the frustrations and the hopes of life in the Senate.” The memoir, scheduled for a 2017 release, remains untitled. Unfortunately, Lies And The Lying Liars Who Tell Them has already been used.
